7 Stash-Busting Knitting and Crochet Patterns

My yarn supply has gotten out of hand. I think there may be more yarn in the house then I can ever knit, crochet, or weave with in my life time. I need to do some serious stash-busting to make room.  You can use just about any pattern to help use up leftover yarn, but since I am looking to move out a lot of yarn, so I am thinking larger projects.  I am currently knitting a garter stitch bulky blanket with super bulky yarn and worsted weight yarn held together.   I am hoping that it will make a dent in the size of my yarn collection.  Ravelry has a wonderful group dedicated to stash-busting that can be found here.  I want to share some of the amazing patterns I found with you

1. Scrap Granny Hooded Jacket Crochet Pattern from Maggie's Crochet

I fell in love with this crochet jacket made out of granny squares. The pattern is about $9, and is absolutely gorgeous. It reminds me of something Mrs. Weasley from Harry Potter would wear. I would love to make one for myself. I even love the colors she used for the jacket in the photo.

2. Rainbow Ripple Baby Blanket by Celeste Young Designs Crochet Pattern

5. Chunky Crocheted Blanket Pattern from A Lively Hope

I love the bulky look of this blanket.  It uses multiple strands of worsted weight yarn held together to use up all of your excess worsted weight yarn.

6. Scrappy Bias Shawl by Emily Clawson

This bias triangle shawl has so many possibilities!  It's offered as a free Ravelry download!  I am thinking this could be the perfect project for some of hand painted wool!
